Day 79...Saturday Oct. 31

Saturday was, for the most part, a really fun day! It was Halloween and the last day my husband and I will be having any alcohol or caffeine so as to prep for Pickle! To celebrate the holiday, my husband and I decided to have lots of caffeine and go impulsively get ourselves pierced! Random right? Actually, it wasn't too impulsive. We had been considering it for a couple weeks. But we finally decided to just go through with it as an early birthday gift for my husband. So I got my nose pierced, and my husband got his eyebrow pierced. It was painful but well worth it! They both look great! Also my husband buzzed his hair short! It looks so good on him! I had never seen his hair that short, other than in pictures from before we met.

Unfortunately the harvest fest for work was canceled due to an outbreak of H1N1 that had struck our school. Attendance was already starting to drop with both the kids and the staff. So as a precautionary measure, they canceled the festival. I can't say that I blame them. Plus, after the week from hell at work, I can't say I was too upset not to deal with work on my weekend.

Later that night we went to a party at a friend's house. It was a fun time...that is until one of our friend got a little too friendly in his drunken stupor and invaded my bubble a little more than he should've. It wasn't anything drastic (more of an uncomfortable hugging/tackle), and he was extremely apologetic (especially after my husband threatened to knock his lights out if he ever tried to pull anything like that again) but it still left a lingering awkwardness about the evening. On the plus side, since it was our last night of drinking, the whole event made it a little easier for me to give up alcohol. I'd rather have my wits about me than be caught again in a confused and uncomfortable buzzed situation. It wasn't exactly how I was planning on enjoying my last drink, but hey...motivation is motivation no matter what awkward situation it may stem from, right?

That's twice this month you've slipped deadly nightshade into my tea and run off, Pickle!
